Thurgoland Village Hall is located in the centre of the village and is used by many of the village organisations. It is available for rent by any individual or organisation subject to availability. Within the environs of the recreation ground there are facilities for football, bowls, and tennis. There is also a play area for children. There are two buildings, the main Hall and a smaller building, used mainly for children’s activities - a Youth Club and an out-of-school club. If you wish to rent the hall or any of the other facilities please contact Margaret Denton on 0114 288 5037; the rent is usually £12 per hour but may vary depending upon the purpose and duration of your hire. The Hall can accommodate 150 people and we have seating for 100 theatre style or 60 at tables. Cooked meals for up to 50 people are regularly served from our kitchen.
The Village Hall is the home to many Village organisations such as the Luncheon Club and the History group and various classes are held here. The Hall and the other amenities on the site are all run by The Thurgoland Welfare Committee for the benefit of the residents of Thurgoland and the surrounding areas.
